BIOGRAPHY

Dara Ola (Daro) was born in Sulaymaniyah in Kurdistan, Iraq, in 1965. In 1988 he moved to Vienna, Austria, und has been living und working there since. In 1993 he obtained Austrian citizenship. From 1999 to 2009 he taught as assistant professor to the Zhou Brothers (Shan Zuo Zhou und Da Huang Zhou) in the painting class »Feeling is Liberty« at the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg. Since 2011 he is working in the same tea ching position in the Zhou Brothers' painting class at the Summer Academy in Traunkirchen, Austria.

He holds a Master of Arts (with distinction) from the Academy of Fine Art, Vienna, where he studied painting und graphic art with Professor Gunter Damisch for four years (incl. one semester with Otto Zitko).
